MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019030 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on March 15, 2024, for 'an assembly to detect and determine filter clog and water supply failure in washing machine.'

Inventor(s) include Verma Rituraj.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assembly (104) to detect and determine filter (110) clog and water supply failure in a washing machine (102) is provided. The assembly (104) includes a filter assembly (104) to filter (110) inlet water supply, a first sensing means to detect the flow of water, a second sensing means to detect the level of water inside a tub of the washing machine (102), a control unit to compare inputs from the first sensing means and the second sensing means. Further, before a wash cycle, flow of water from the inlet water supply and the level of water inside the tub is detected via the first sensing means and the second sensing means respectively in a predetermined pattern and based on the detection the control unit determines one of: normal working of the filter (110), complete filter clog error, water inlet error and partial clog error in the filter (110)."
