MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611027012 A) filed by Dr. Ritu Srivastava, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on March 7, for 'an auto-rotatory apparatus and method for cleaning roadside drains.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ritu Srivastava; and Kanchan Kumari.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an auto-rotatory roadside drain cleaning apparatus (100) for removing floating debris from open drainage channels. The apparatus comprises a support frame (110) supporting an inclined rotatory sieve assembly (120) having an endless conveyor-type sieve belt (121) with a mesh portion (122) guided over a lower pulley (130) and an upper pulley (140). A drive unit (150) rotates the sieve belt to intercept and lift floating waste while allowing water to drain through the mesh. A depth adjustment mechanism (160) enables controlled submersion of the sieve belt according to varying water levels. Collected debris is discharged into a removable debris collector (170). The apparatus may further include a control unit (180), a power unit (190) operable through mains or solar energy, and a vehicle-mounting interface (200) with an optional wheel-driven transmission (210) for mobile operation."
