MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611049759 A) filed by Noida Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 19, for 'an automated firmware update mechanism for distributed iot nodes.'

Firmware is delivered in segments, verified through manifest and cryptographic checks, written into an inactive partition of a secure storage partition set (107), and activated by a boot control module (108). A rollback controller (109) restores a prior image upon post-boot fault detection, thereby enabling secure and recoverable fleet-wide firmware maintenance."
