MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441016256 A) filed by K. Ramakrishnan College Of Technology, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on March 7, 2024, for 'an automated fish cutting machine.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an automated fish cutting machine (20) for cutting the fish pieces without the need of skilled labours. The automated fish cutting machine comprises a robotic arm, slider mechanism, adjustable clamp, blade, arduino and a communication module. The robotic arm (10) comprises a robotic gripper (9) which is having at least two fingers for holding the body of the fish for cutting. The slider mechanism (4) located at the bottom area of the robotic arm which is configured to provide the movement to the robotic arm assembly. The adjustable clamp (7) is configured to change the cutting size of the fish pieces by operating the screw mechanism. The blade (5) is operatively coupled with the cam mechanism for cutting the fish pieces which the sequential operation of the robotic arm. The arduino (6) is configured to execute the predefined instructions for cutting the fish pieces continuously. The arduino controls the operation of the electrical parts and components in a sequence. The communication module (13) comprises a smart phone for instructing the commands to the arduino for cutting the fish pieces from one or more authenticated locations by the users. The present invention (20) will reduce the injuries/accidents in the manual fish cutting process in an effective manner."
