MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421006522 A) filed by Ettrick Innovations Private Limited, Maharashtra, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'an automated footrest support assembly for vehicles.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated footrest (102) support assembly (100) for vehicles is disclosed, the support assembly (100) provides controlled opening and closing of footrests (102) as per user requirement. A pair of footrests (102) is mounted on a lower chassis arm of a vehicle, equipped with an elongated barrier (104) and a plurality of grips (103) enhancing user safety. A push button (116) provides the user with manual control over the pair of footrest (102). The push button (116) is connected in series with a DC motor (114) for motorized operation. The DC motor (114) transmits the motion to a push pull control cable (112) for further transmitting the push or pull motion to a support plate (108). A foldable hinge joint (106) with a movable leaf (106a) and a fixed leaf (106b) is connected to the support plate (108). The movable leaf (106a) is attached to a bottom part of the footrest (102) for transmitting required motion to the footrest (102)."
