MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621031317 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on March 13, for 'an ergonomically configured grater handle grip with table-supporting geometry.'
Inventor(s) include Shreya Sonawane; and Tanmayee Puntambekar.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an ergonomically configured grater comprising a grater plate and a non-linear wave-shaped handle grip. The handle grip includes alternating curved segments configured to allow a portion of the handle to rest on a working surface during operation. The handle has an overall length of 300 mm and a developed curved profile length of 257.14 mm. The geometry reduces wrist strain, improves stability, and enhances force distribution during manual grating. The configuration enables surface-supported operation and improved grip control, thereby reducing fatigue and risk of slippage during extended use."
