MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019300 A) filed by Small Arms Factory, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'an improved hammer.'
Inventor(s) include Abhay Singh Rana.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an improved hammer with a hole on the surface of the hammer and addition of transfer bar to the firing mechanism. The system provides safety against accidental firing which may occur due to slight hit of hammer on pin firing during drop of the revolver etc. The force of hammer is transferred to pin firing through transfer bar only which does not come in between the hammer and pin firing until the trigger is pulled completely."
