MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517094383 A) filed by California Institute Of Technology, Pasadena, U.S.A., on Oct. 1, for 'anti-infection catheter and manufactirung method.'
Inventor(s) include Zhou, Tingtao; Wan, Xuan; Sternberg, Paul W.; Huang, Zhengyu; Daraio, Chiara; Li, Zongyi; Peng, Zhiwei; Brady, John F.; and Anandkumar, Animashree.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Catheter comprising altered geometry of a fluid channel to prevent upstream mobility of bacteria, using angled obstacles on the interior of the channel that among other things creates vortices that restrict the mobility. An optimized geometry can be realized by an artificial intelligence algorithm or similar methods based on performance of various configurations of obstacle parameters."
