MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023141 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'anti-theft device for four-wheeler vehicle.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An anti-theft device for four-wheeler vehicle, comprising an inverted U-shaped body 1 positioned around clutch pedal of a vehicle, a pair of suction cups 2 are attached with body 1 for adhering body 1 on floor of the vehicle, an imaging unit 3 mounted on the body 1 for detecting dimensions of the pedal, a U-shaped member 4 installed with body 1 via a pair of motorized slider 7 for translating the member 4 towards the pedal to push the pedal, an electromagnet configured with member 4 to lock body 1 with member 4, a pair of pneumatic pins 5 installed with a first portion of body 1 to extend and insert in holes, a a fingerprint sensor 6 fabricated on member 4 for enabling user to feed fingerprints for unlocking pedal."
