MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527065189 A) filed by Clariant International Ltd., Muttenz, Switzerland, on July 9, for 'antimicrobial compounds for oral care.'

Inventor(s) include Fricke, Tom; Back, Ute; Grohmann, Joerg Peter; and Riederle, Petra.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the use of compound X selected from compounds of Formula (I) wherein R is selected from saturated hydrocarbon chains having to 23 carbon atoms, unsaturated hydrocarbon chains having 5 to 23 carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof, glyceryl ethers, sorbitan esters, and isosorbide esters as an antimicrobial agent against dental caries causing microorganisms, dental plaque causing microorganisms or gingivitis causing microorganisms."
