MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517095396 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 4, for 'apparatus and method for cell reselection in a wireless communication system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The present application provides methods performed by a terminal and a base station in a wireless communication system, a terminal, and a base station. In an aspect, a method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system includes: receiving first information from a base station of a serving cell of a first type, the first information includes location-related information of the serving cell and information of a neighbouring cell of a second type; and measuring the neighbouring cell of the second type based on a UE location and the location-related information of the serving cell."
