MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621028730 A) filed by Sage University, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on March 11, for 'apparatus for agricultural pest repulsion and method of manufacturing the apparatus.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Prashant Jain; Prof. Siddarth Nath Gautam; Pramod Joshi; Yakub Varsee; Mayank Rathore; Akash Joshi; Panchgiri Sai Kumar; and Nalla Rahul.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An apparatus (100) for agricultural pest repulsion includes a two-piece enclosure having a base section (212) with molded standoffs (204) and a cover section (202) with snap-fit latches (206). The snap-fit latches (206) engage the base section (212) without mechanical fasteners. A hardware processor (102), a transducer driver (104), and a voltage regulator (106) are co-located on a single substrate retained by the molded standoffs (204). The hardware processor (102) is configured to generate electrical signals at ultrasonic frequencies. The transducer driver (104) electrically connects to the hardware processor (102). The voltage regulator (106) supplies operating voltage to the hardware processor (102). A piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer (108) electrically connects to the transducer driver (104) and emits ultrasonic acoustic waves in response to electrical signals from the transducer driver (104). The ultrasonic acoustic waves emitted by the piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer (108) repel agricultural pests from a field area."
