MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517055911 A) filed by Cilag Gmbh International, Zug, Switzerland, on June 10, for 'application of topical skin adhesive to surgical mesh.'
Inventor(s) include Ou, Duan Li; and Quintero, Julian.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system includes a surgical mesh having an upper side and a lower side, where the upper side includes a visual indicia pattern that extends longitudinally along the upper side, and the lower side is configured to adhere to a section of skin of a patient that surrounds a wound. The system further includes a topical skin adhesive configured to be applied to the upper side of the surgical mesh based on the visual indicia pattern. The topical skin adhesive is configured to cure within the surgical mesh to thereby form a protective layer over the wound."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/IB2023/061723.
