MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011286 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'artificial intelligence-based clothes storage device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An artificial intelligence-based clothes storage device, comprises of a body 1 positioned on ground surface, a platform 2 is arranged in front of body 1 for accommodating multiple clothes that are to be stored, a touch sensor integrated on platform 2 for detecting presence of clothes on platform 2, a pair of robotic arms 3 integrated on platform 2 for gripping and spreading each of accommodated clothes, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on body 1 and integrated with a processor for capturing and processing surrounding images, a Lidar (Light Detection and ranging) sensor integrated on body 1 for monitoring dimensions of spread clothes, multiple compartments 5 for storing a particular category of clothes, a motorized lid 8 integrated on each of compartments 5 to get opened and touch interactive display panel 7 arranged on body 1 for displaying list of stored clothes within compartment."
