MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511125046 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'artificial intelligence based early warning system for civil unrest and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A riot detection and early warning system (100) comprising: a data collecting unit (102) comprising: one or more edge devices (102a-102n) configured to collect real world data; processing circuitry (104) configured to: process the real world data; determine an emotional sentiment factor associated to one or more co-ordinates upon processing the real world data; determine a deviated value corresponding to a deviation between the emotional sentiment factor and a predefined emotional factor associated to a society; generate a risk score based on the deviated value, wherein the risk score comprising a low risk score when the deviated value lies in a predefined range and the risk score comprising a high risk score when the deviated value is beyond the predefined range; and an output unit (106) configured to notify the risk score to one or more concerned authorities, wherein the one or more concerned authorities initiate one or more risk mitigation actions when the risk score comprising the high risk score."
