MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421004713 A) filed by Healthledger Private Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on Jan. 23, 2024, for 'assay, primers, and probes for detection of mycobacterium tuberculosis.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a cost-effective, highly sensitive, and specific method for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and its rifampicin-resistant strain. In particular, the present disclosure provides primer sets and probes. Further, the present disclosure provides a kit comprising the primer sets and the probes for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis and rifampicin-resistant M. tuberculosis in a biological sample. Furthermore, the present disclosure provides an assay for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis and rifampicin-resistant M. tuberculosis in the biological sample employing the primer sets and the probes."
