MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017970 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'assistive device for installation of glass grill.'

Inventor(s) include Rohaila Naaz.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive device for installation of glass grill, comprising a platform 1 attached with four suction cups 2 and positioned on stair surface, a touch interactive display panel 3 accessed by user to enter details regarding thickness and dimension of a glass railing, an L-shaped telescopic rod 4 installed on platform 1 to extend and position multiple motorized drilling units 9 in proximity to the stair which is detected by an artificial intelligence-based image capturing module 5 and accordingly the lateral side of stair is determined, further drilling units 9 carves out a cavity over stairs, a tactile sensor detects hardness of stairs, based on which rod 4 extends/retracts, a sliding unit 6 translates drilling unit 9 to cut out slot, and a slider 8 translates drilling units 9 to a tip portion of rod 4 as per thickness entered by user over display panel 3."
