MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024646 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'assistive device for removing weld spatters.'

Inventor(s) include Suman Rani; and Ajay Agrawal.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive device for removing weld spatters, comprises of a U-shaped frame 1 having proximal 2 and distal 3 portion, the proximal 2 accessed by a user to position the distal 3 portion over a surface with weld spatter, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determines positioning of the weld spatter over the surface, a laser projection unit 5 installed with the frame 1 project laser light over the surface, a pair of plates 6 configured with the distal 3 portion for removal of the weld spatter, an ultrasonic sensor installed over the frame 1 monitors dimension of the weld spatter, a heating element 7 installed with each of the plates 6 to melt and remove the weld spatter, and a pair of inverted L-shaped telescopic rods 8 installed over the distal 3 portion for positioning a motorized buffing pad 9 configured with each of the rod over the surface."
