MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088377 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'assistive eatable chopping device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Navneet Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive eatable chopping device, comprising of a platform 1 developed to be positioned on an eatable to chop, a handle 2 to place platform 1 on eatable, a touch interactive display panel 3 to input details regarding number of slices that user desires to chop along with dimension of slices, a horizontal sliding unit 4 configured with multiple telescopic pins 5 to penetrate pins 5 inside eatable, a speaker 6 to notify user to start a chopping process, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 7 determines presence of user's fingers at any inappropriate position from pins 5, an electromagnet prevents movement of knife, a magneto inductive sensor for detecting sharpness of pins 5, a robotic link 8 configured with a sanding unit 9 for sharpening pins 5, and a MQ4 sensor for detecting freshness of eatable."
