MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011933 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'assistive storage device for buses.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Bhagyalaxmi Behera.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive storage device for buses, comprises of a rectangular base 101 adapted to be positioned within a luggage rack of a bus, multiple rectangular plates 102 mounted perpendicularly on sliding units 103 for creating partitions on the base 101 for storage of luggage, a microphone 112 for receiving an audio command from the user regarding mounting the luggage, an imaging unit 111 to determine luggage placed on a rectangular flap 106 configured with a drawer mechanism 107, attached with bottom ends of a pair of hydraulic actuators 104 attached by means of hinges by means of pivot joints 108, to move the rectangular flap 106 for lifting of luggage placed on the flap 106, a hydraulic pusher 109 in for pushing luggage from the flap 106 onto the base 101, and multiple pop-out balls 110 for a smooth translation of luggage towards the base 101 for storage."
