MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012932 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'assistive workpiece cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Somasekar Reddy.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive workpiece cutting device comprises of a rectangular body 1 arranged with a handle 2 developed to be accessed by a user for positioning body 1 in proximity to a workpiece, multiple pop-out balls 3 for moving body 1 around workpiece, an imaging unit 4 to determine structural configuration of workpiece, a touch interactive display panel 5 for enabling user to input a specific portion of workpiece that user desires to move from workpiece, an inverted L-shaped telescopic link 6 for extending and positioning a blade 7 over workpiece, an inductive proximity sensor and a tactile sensor for detecting nature and hardness of workpiece, a heating unit for heating blade 7 upto an appropriate temperature in order to smoothly cut workpiece."
