MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024167 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated animal segregation device for farms.'
Inventor(s) include Ritesh; Sahil Dhiman; Sumanpreet Kaur; Meenakshi Garg; and Rohini Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated animal segregation device for farms, comprising a pair of extendable rectangular plates 1 designed for installation within an animal farm, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the plate 1 to detect average body dimensions including height and width of the animals, a thermal camera 3 installed on the plate 1 and synced with the imaging unit 2 to detect presence of pregnant animals moving from the gap, a chamber 4 stored with paint solution and configured on the bar to spray a paint color over the animal's body, a microphone 5 embedded with the plate 1 for receiving voice commands of the owner and a flap 6 attached with the plates 1 in view of separating the animal from its neighboring ones."
