MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012460 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'automated artificial pollination facilitating device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated artificial pollination facilitating device, comprising a body 1 positioned on a ground surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of the body 1, a touch interactive display panel 3 that is accessed by a user for selecting a male and female plant, plurality of motorized wheels 4 for moving the body 1 towards the user-specified male plant, pair of motorized grippers 5 to acquire a grip over the male plant's flower, a multi-sectioned chamber with cotton swab for adhering of multiple pollen grains from the stigma, a pair of curved flaps to deploy the flaps around the gripped swab, a conical member 6 through an extendable bar 7 in order to open stigma of the female plant followed by deposition of the adhered pollens of the exposed stigma by the gripper in order to initiate pollination between the plants."
