MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007795 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 5, 2024, for 'automated bamboo processing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated bamboo processing device, comprises a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface attached with a chamber 2 stored with bamboos, a touch enabled screen 3 is plotted on the platform 1 to give input commands regarding length and width of bamboo strips to be manufactured from the bamboo, actuates a telescopically operated gripper 4 installed on the platform 1 for gripping one of the bamboos from the chamber 2, a slot 5 carved on a disc installed on with platform 1 for inserting free ends of the bamboo, a robotic arm 9 installed on the platform 1 via a motorized slider 10 and equipped with a cutter 11 for cutting bamboo in the user-defined length, and a motorized sliding unit 14 configured at inner periphery of a ring 12 for translating the blades 13 to maintaining an optimum distance between the blades 13 to cut the strips."
