MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012909 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated barrel filling assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated barrel filling assistive device, comprising an inverted U-shaped hollow body 1, a semi-circular shaped frame 2 securing on surface of barrel in order to mount body 1 on barrel, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines height of barrel along with presence of user in close proximity to barrel, a proximity sensor for detecting distance between user and barrel for actuating a lifting arrangement 4 for providing movement to a lid attached with arrangement 4 for supplying fluid from a reservoir to body 1, a hollow tube 6 allowing supply of the fluid from inlet 5 of body 1 to a pair of outlets 7 crafted on body 1, a touch interactive display panel 8 for enabling user to input details regarding number of barrels for actuating motorized sliding unit 9 for positioning a plate 10 that barricades one of outlets 7 and only allow passage of fluid."
