MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020688 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated black pepper berries processing device.'

Inventor(s) include Sahdev Singh; Vikas; Preeti Garg; and Esheta Tyagi.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated black pepper berries processing device, comprising a housing 1 installed within a chamber 2 stored with black pepper berries, a touch enabled screen 3 accessed by user to give input for processing berries, a hydraulic pusher 4 extends for transferring berries in a container 5, two motorized cylindrical members 6 rotates to separate berries from straw and separated berries are collected in a vessel 8, an electronic nozzle 9 dispenses water within vessel 8, a motorized stirrer stirs berries for cleaning berries, a suction unit 11 installed with vessel 8 for extracting water, a motorized iris lid 12 opens and dispenses cleaned berries on a platform 13, a flap 14 installed on platform 13 via motorized slider 16 which translates flap 14 to evenly spread berries, a heating unit dries the berries and obtain black pepper, a speaker 17 notifies user to collect pepper."
