MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011277 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'automated book reading assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Rohit Kumar Singh Gautam.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated book reading assistive device comprising, a platform 1 developed to be positioned over a table-top, multiple rods 2 attached with platform 1 to provide support, a weight sensor installed on platform 1 to detect placement of book, multiple clippers 3 assembled on platform 1 for gripping book's cover, with multiple telescopic bars 4 configured with a transparent slab 5 to place over the book, a microphone 6 assembled on platform 1 to provide input regarding page flipping, a motorized sliding unit 7 configured with a pin 8 to flip the page, a moisture sensor assembled on platform 1 to detect moisture over the book and, an air blower 9 assembled on platform 1 for drying book."
