MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013353 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'automated branch cutting device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated branch cutting device, comprising a hollow cylindrical body 1 gripped by a user and housed with a rod 2, a touch enabled screen 3 is accessed by user to give input commands for cutting a branch of tree, a camera 4 detects height of branch and an iris lid 6 opens a chain drive telescopic arrangement 7 configured with rod 2 to translate rod 2 out from body 1 for positioning two C-shaped extendable members 5 near branch whose diameter is detected by a laser sensor and accordingly members 5 extend, two hinges 8 tilt members 5 for positioning free-end in contact in order to enclose branch, a circular sliding unit translates and aligns two telescopically operated links 9 to maintain an optimum distance between links 9, a pneumatic blade 11 configured with one of members 5 that is rotated by a slider 12 for cutting branch."
