MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311083999 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 8, 2023, for 'automated brick splitting device.'
Inventor(s) include Vineet Pandey; and Anshu Tomar.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated brick splitting device, comprises of a platform 1 positioned over a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 2 mounted on the platform 1 accessed by a user to provide input commands regarding dimension in which brick is to be split, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated rods 3 installed at lateral sides of platform 1 and configured with flap 4 to accommodate brick, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 9 to detect dimension of the brick, a laser emitting unit 5 installed on the platform 1 to project a laser light over the brick as means of marking brick and a motorized cutting blade 6 installed on platform 1 via a telescopic link 7 to extend/retract for cutting the brick throughout the projected light ass means of splitting the brick."
