MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010740 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'automated bulb crops packaging device.'
Inventor(s) include Shambhu Bharadwaj; and Devendra Pal Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated bulb crops packaging device, comprising a body 1 arranged with a motorized lid 2 to insert multiple bulb crop as detected by an AI-based imaging unit 3, a pair of clamping units 4 to grip leafy portion of bulb crops, two sliding unit 5 integrated in between body 1 and clamping units 4 for translating bulb towards a blade 6 to cut off bulbs from leaf which falls on an inclined plank 7 arranged underneath blade 6 and integrated with four motorized sliders 8 to dispense separated bulbs out of body 1, a ring 10 arranged next to plank 7 attached with three J-shaped hooks 11 over which a bag is manually engaged in a manner that bulbs fall in bag, a robotic arm 14 mapped on body 1 to grip and coil a thread 13 from a spool 12 to tie a knot mouth of bag."
