MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025536 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated calluses and extra skin removal device.'
Inventor(s) include Shikha Virk; Dr. Rupinder Sodhi; Sunny Dhiman; Dimple; and Tribeni Baruah.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated calluses and extra skin removal device, comprising a cuboidal body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, palm and foot-like two separate structure 2 to mimic natural palm and foot contours of a human body,, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing multiple images of the user's palm/ foot to detect dimensions and presence of calluses and extra skin present on palm and foot of the user, electronic nozzle 4 connected with a vessel 5 stored with moisturizing solution for dispensing moisturizing solution over the accommodated palm/ foot, telescopically operated rod 7 to extend for positioning a motorized disc 6 in proximity to the user's palm/foot to rotate for scrubbing via bristles 8 and a robotic arm 9 to extend for positioning a motorized blade 10 in contact with calluses and extra skin."
