MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017927 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'automated candle holding device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated candle holding device comprises of a cuboidal body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a cylindrical member 2 is assembled on body 1 to place a candle, a microphone assembled on body 1 for providing input regarding enkindling or extinguishing candle and time period, a robotic link 4 is configured with an electric ignitor 5 assembled on body 1 for enkindling candle, an anemometer assembled on the body 1 for detecting intensity of wind blowing, a motorized sliding unit 6 arranged on the member 2 for deploying plates assembled on sliding unit 6 around candle, a timer for monitoring illumination time of candle, a motorized hinge joint configured between plates and sliding unit 6 for providing movement to plates, an imaging unit 8 for evaluating length of candle and a pneumatic pusher 9 assembled inside member 2 for lifting the candle."
