MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018213 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'automated carpet cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Ajay Rastogi.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated carpet cutting device, comprising a platform 1 configured with plurality of omnidirectional wheels 2 positioned on a ground surface, an image capturing module 3 installed on the platform 1 for determining a position of carpet to be cut, a display panel 4 installed on the platform 1 enabling user input commands, a gantry arrangement 5 installed beneath the platform 1 to slide for positioning a cutting blade 6 configured with the arrangement 5, a telescopic rod 7 configured between the blade 6 and arrangement 5 for extending the blade 6 to cut the carpet and a circular sliding unit 8 installed between the arrangement 5 and platform 1 for moving the blade 6 over the carpet."
