MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026066 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated carpet laying device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Kismat; Dr. Jasminal Kaur; Dr. Charu; Aditiya Dhadwal; and Gunwant Rupal.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated carpet laying device comprises a frame 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface integrated with a pair of rods 2 for supporting the frame 1 on the surface, a touch interactive display panel 3 arranged on the frame 1 for user input, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 13 is installed on the frame 1 monitors the surface, a pair of discs 4 arranged on lateral sides of the frame 1 and integrated with a motorized first roller 5, a motorized circular sliding unit 6 is integrated in between the discs 4 and roller for translating the first roller 5, a pair of motorized grippers 7 integrated on lateral sides of the frame 1 for applying pressure on the unwrapped carpet, and a telescopically operated L-shaped bar 8 installed on the frame 1 for positioning a rotatable brush 9 integrated on the bar 8."
