MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004001 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'automated chimney cleaning device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated chimney cleaning device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface, a button 2 is accessed by a user for activating/deactivating device, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 mapped on the platform 1 which determines location of a chimney, four motorized wheels 4 arranged underneath platform 1 for positioning platform 1 in near chimney, an extendible slider 5 arranged on platform 1 which extends/retracts repetitively for translating two to three rotatable brushes 11 over surface of chimney to scrub out dirt, a motorized scissor arrangement 7 arranged on the platform 1 and configured with a plate 6 and the arrangement 7 raises a plate 6 to position it under the brush 11 such that scrubbed out dirt is collected on plate 6, and four suction units 8 arranged on plate 6 for extracting and storing collected dirt within a waste box 9 configured with platform 1."
