MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531017966 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 28, for 'automated cleaning device for beaches.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated cleaning device for beaches, comprising a platform 101 developed to be positioned by a user on a ground surface of a beach, motorized track wheels 102 via a rod 103, for providing movement to platform 101 on surface, an imaging unit 104 generate a 3D (Dimensional) mapping of surroundings, a display for enabling a user to select a portion of beach to be cleaned, a meshed frame 106 by means of a pair of extendable rods 107, each connected with a clamp 108 to extend/retract for positioning frame 106 on surface, a LiDAR sensor for determining distance of surface from frame 106, an ultrasonic sensor for determining dimensions of segregated debris placed on frame 106, a pair of robotic arms 109 to grab debris from surface and a vacuum unit 110 integrated within a hose connected with a waste chamber 111 arranged on platform 101, for extracting debris."
