MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013346 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 23, 2024, for 'automated coconut peeling device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated coconut peeling device, comprises of a mounted with a chamber 2 stored with coconuts, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for peeling the coconuts, a motorized iris lid 4 to open for dispensing the coconuts on a motorized circular disc 5, a J-shaped member 6 mounted on the disc 5 results in lining-up of the coconuts and transferring of the coconuts over a set of motorized rollers 7 to rotate such that husk from the coconuts are removed via the teeth and are collected in a container, a camera 8 for detecting exact location of the coconuts over the rollers 7 and a telescopically operated gripper 9 for gripping and positioning the coconuts in a successive manner between a set of L-shaped telescopically operated rods 10 equipped with a suction cup 11, and a motorized cutter 12 to cut the coconut."
