MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005472 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'automated crack repairing device for four-wheeler vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Vikas Kaushik; Sarabjeet Singh; and Anikate Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated crack repairing device for four-wheeler vehicle comprises of comprises of a housing 1 installed on a ground surface in proximity to cracked part of a four-wheeler vehicle, a touch enabled screen 2 for enabling a user to give input commands for repairing crack, a camera 3 for detecting dimensions of crack, a telescopically operated gripper 4 for gripping a free-end of a metal wire 5 wrapped on a spool 6 and engaging free-end in a cylindrical member 7 attached with a circular disc 8 and carved with a spiral-shaped cavity 9, a primary robotic arm 11 attached with a plate 12 for pressing spiral-shaped wire over cracked, a heating unit for allowing insertion of spiral-shaped wire in part for binding crack, multiple electronic sprayers 15 coupled with multiple chambers 16 stored with paints of different colors for spraying paint of detected color, thus repairing part of vehicle."
