MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010375 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated crop harvesting device.'
Inventor(s) include Manmeet Kaur; Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; and Parneet Kaur.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated crop harvesting device, comprising a cuboidal shaped body 1 positioned on a ground surface, an imaging unit 2 mounted on the body 1 detecting height of crops, a collection flap 3 having multiple tines 4 attached with the body 1 for collecting yield from the crops, a display panel 5 mapped on the body 1 for enabling user input commands, a robotic gripper 6 assembled on the body 1 for picking and placing the harvested yield and debris into a multi-sectioned chamber 7 arranged inside the body 1, a thermal camera 8 installed on the body 1 for detecting presence of any animal in vicinity while harvesting the crops and a speaker 9 assembled on the body 1 for notifying the user."
