MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017488 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 11, 2024, for 'automated curtain maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Devyansh Batra; Kushagra Agrawal; and Dr. Vikas Wasson.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated curtain maintenance device, comprises of a frame 1 configured with a bi-directional conveyor belt 2 configured with a primary and secondary set of electromagnets 3 for engaging hooks 4 attached with a first and second type of curtain strands, an imaging unit 5 for detecting type of curtain strands, a first and second servo motor 6 to translate the conveyer belt 2, plurality of electronic valves 8 and nozzles 10 installed within a primary section 7 and connected with a vessel 9 stored with soap solution and a water chamber 11 for cleaning the curtain strands, plurality of heating units 13 and air blowers 14 installed on secondary sections 12 for drying the curtain strands, a receptacle 17 installed at a base potion of the primary section 7, and a UV(Ultraviolet) based sterilization unit 16 installed on tertiary section 15 for sterilizing the curtains."
