MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005479 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'automated dental hygiene maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Rohini; Meenakshi Garg; Rini Saxena; and Sahil Verma.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated dental hygiene maintenance device comprises an elongated body having a proximal end 1 that enables a user to acquire grip over the body and a distal end 2 that need to be placed in proximity to the user's mouth, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 synced with a color sensor for detecting presence of debris in user's mouth, a curved member 4 integrated with motorized ball and socket joint 5 for positioning the curved member in proximity to the stuck debris, a motorized roller 6 for loosening/tightening thread in order to extract the debris stuck in the oral cavity of user, an electronically controlled nozzle 7 for dispensing pressurized water over the debris, an extendable tweezer 8 to extract the debris from user's molar teeth, a pressure sensor for monitoring the pressure applied by the tweezer."
