MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023570 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated dressing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rainu Gupta; and Payal Shrivastava.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated dressing assistive device, comprising, a body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, the body 1 is installed with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 to generate a 3-dimensional model of a user present, a touch interactive display panel 3 arranged on the body 1 for displaying the captured images and generated model that is accessed by the user for selecting a portion of the user's clothes where pin-up is to be performed, a motorized gripper integrated on the rod 5 for tucking in the sheet on the user's skin, underneath the user's clothes portion, a pair of robotic arms 6 are installed on the body 1 to grip the suitable pin stored in a multi-sectioned chamber arranged in the body 1 and engage the pin on the user's clothes portion."
