MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024821 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated drowning-rescue device for animals.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ramandeep Saini; Dr. Anuradha Barda; Pooja Sharma; and Janvi Goyal.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated drowning-rescue device for animals comprises a platform 1 fabricated with an inflated member 2 to be positioned in a waterlogged area, plurality of rubberized grooves 3 are crafted on the platform 1 for preventing slippage of the animal, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on platform 1 for capturing and processing multiple images, plurality of motorized flaps 5 are arranged on platform 1 to provide reciprocating backward/forward movement, an inclined member 6 installed on one end of platform 1 for enabling the drowning animal to get accommodated, a weight sensor is embedded on said platform 1 for monitoring weight, a chamber 8 arranged on other end of the platform 1 stored with pressurized air for allowing the end of the platform 1 to remain raised while animal is accommodating."
