MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087331 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'automated eye drops dispensing device.'

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated eye drops dispensing device, comprising a hollow body 1 having a first end 2 manually positioned over an eye of a user and a second end 3 carved with an opening 4 to partially accommodate an eye drop bottle, a camera 5 mounted within body 1 for detecting diameter of bottle, a motorized iris lid 9 installed at opening 4 to close for gripping bottle, an ultrasonic sensor mapped within body 1 for detecting distance between eye and orifice of bottle, plurality of motorized ball 6 configured around opening 4 to rotate in a manner to translate orifice towards user's eye, a pair of curved members 7 installed at second end 3 via a pair of motorized hinges which applies pressure for dispensing drop from bottle, a telescopically operated rod 8 equipped with a pneumatic pin 10, installed within body 1 for piercing the orifice of bottle."
