MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024838 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated fish feeding device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sonika; Dr. Neha Ugyal; Shazia Bashir; and Karan Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated fish feeding device comprises of, a platform 1 positioned over a water body populated with a specific type of fishes, an impeller 2 to provide propulsion to the platform 1 over surface of the water body, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 10 to monitor type of fishes in the water body, a timer linked with the microcontroller to monitor time duration, a chamber 8 arranged over the platform 1 to store the feed, a nozzle 9 installed over the chamber 8 to dispense the user-specified amount of the feed in the water, a SONAR to monitor echo signature of the fishes based on which the presence and type of any predator fish in the water body is determined, and a motorized lid 4 installed with a container 5 arranged beneath the platform 1 in view of opening the container 5."
