MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020749 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated football puncture maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Yash Chandra Gangwar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated football puncture maintenance device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over fixed surface, motorized telescopic clamps 2 accessed by user to engage football in the clamps 2, microphone 3 to receive voice commands of the user related to puncture maintenance of the football, AI-based imaging unit 4 to detect location of an air valve over the football, robotic arm 5 configured with the cutter 6to cut specific section of the football, primary robotic gripper 7 to withdraw inflatable unit 8 from the football, air compressor to fill the football with air, water reservoir 9 for storing water, secondary robotic gripper 10 to withdraw adhesive tape from a chamber, robotic link 11 to sew cut section of the football via thread, motorized ball and socket joint 14 to position repaired football over the air compressor and a motorized scrubbing brush 15 to clean dust."
