MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411011295 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'automated golf hole operating device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated golf hole operating devicecomprises of a cylindrical shaped hollow telescopic frame 1 utilize by a user to position inside golf hole, a laser sensor installed on the frame 1 for detecting diameter of the hole, a circular slider 3 arranged on a base portion of the frame 1 for providing circular movement to at least four link rods 4 attached with the slider 3 to deploy a collapsible sheet 5, an imaging unit 6 installed within the frame 1 for capturing and processing images of inner surroundings of the frame 1, a robotic gripper 7 arranged within the frame 1 for picking the ball and placing into one of hemi-spherical slots 8, a dust sensor installed within the frame 1 for detecting presence of dust particles on the balls, and an ultrasonic sensor assembled on the frame 1 for detecting distance between the user and the golf hole."
