MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019411 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated green vegetable leaf removal device.'

Inventor(s) include Kul Bhushan Anand.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated green vegetable leaf removal device, comprising an oval-shaped body 1 crafted with a slot 3 inserted with a green vegetable plant within slot 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 determines positioning of green leaves within slot 3, an iris lid 4 installed within slot 3 for positioning a blade near plant, a robotic gripper 8 mounted on body 1 for gripping and pulling stem portion plant from slot 3, which in turn results in removal of green leaves from plant, a container 5 for receiving green leaves from plant, a color sensor synced with imaging unit 7 for detecting any spoiled leaves on plant, if spoiled leaves is detected then iris lid 4 opens to avoid any contact of leaves and blades in view of separating spoiled leaves from fresh green leaves as desired by user."
