MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019326 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated groove crafting device for pipes.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ashok Kumar; and Aishwary Awasthi.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an automated groove crafting device for pipes, comprising a circular shaped body 1 held by a user via a handle 2 attached with the body 1, an inlet 3 crafted on body 1 to insert a pipe inside the body 1, a proximity sensor 4 installed inside the body 1 for detecting pipe insertion, multiple telescopic links 5 arranged inside the body 1 for securing the pipe inside the body 1, a tactile sensor 6 installed inside the body 1 for detecting pipe hardness, a hot air blower 7 arranged inside the body 1 for blowing hot air to melt the pipe, a display panel 8 mapped on body 1 for enabling user's input details, a motorized sliding unit 9 arranged between links 5 and body 1 for rotating the pipe and a grooving tool 11 attached with rod 10 for carving groove on pipe."
