MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010739 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 15, 2024, for 'automated hair-washing device for disabled.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated hair-washing device for disabled comprises of a rectangular frame 1 arranged with a curved member 2 developed to be placed over a bed, a supporting unit 3 for providing support to the user's head, an imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images of surrounding of frame 1, a flap 5 attached with motorized hinge joint to accommodate user's hair over flap 5, multiple electronic nozzles 8 for dispensing water on user's hair, a conical-shaped structure 9 arranged with a robotic link 10 accessed by a user to place a collapsible container stored with a hair washing solution, a joint-less iris lid 11 for clasping container, a hair density detection sensor for detecting hair density of user, a motorized slider 12 for providing movement to a pair of clippers 13 for dragging protrusions, a rectangular plate 14 mounted with multiple bristles 15 to scrub user's hair with dispensed solution."
